ELBURN LIONS CHARITIES

GIVING BACK

SUPPORTING COMMUNITY

One of the three main parts of Elburn Lions Club is Elburn Lions Charities which is the not for profit arm of our club.  Elburn Lions Charities serves the community through donations to local food pantries, local families in need, and local service groups to international disaster relief efforts through Lions International.  This is made possible through our many fund raising efforts and the overwhelming generosity of our community.

The Elburn Lions Club has instituted additional screening before making donations to their charitable causes. We regret this action, but with the current government restrictions our facility is closed eliminating our abilities to hold fund raising activities. We will be forwarding a questionnaire after receiving donation requests which will then be reviewed by our Finance Committee.

In 2012, Lions Clubs International announced a new partnership aimed at promoting literacy around the world. The Elburn Lions took the initiative seriously and started “Elburn Lions for Literacy” program.
Through Recycle for Sight, Elburn Lions collect new and gently used eyeglasses sunglasses, hearing aids and cell phones and cell phone chargers. We have collection boxes to deposit them at a variety of locations in Elburn.
The Elburn Lions Club has placed our machines at the Elburn Town & Country Public Library, The Meadows Apartments for Seniors in their library and at homes across the Kaneland area.
Elburn Lions Club owns a portable vision screening machine, which is a camera capable of basic vision evaluations for people of almost any age – as early as 6 months old.
Elburn Lions Club is a community service organization – our goals are to improve the community and help those less fortunate than us.

The Elburn Lions Club is in District 1J. Districts are defined by clubs in a certain geographic area. We also participate in Lions of Illinois Foundation programs
