The Elburn Lions hosts the “German Dinner” in October annually. The dinner is a fundraiser for Lions Park that was created by Lions Members with a desire to serve and share their love for food. Several of the recipes came from our families and we enjoy cooking authentic German food for all to enjoy!
The “German Dinner Crew” has been chairing this event since its inception in 2005. We love to entertain our guests, serve good food, encourage fellowship and create a fun environment for family and friends to gather and enjoy a great meal.
The dinner is “All You Can Eat” and served buffet style. The menu consists of Pork Loins, Bratwurst, German Potato Salad, Red Cabbage, Sauerkraut, Spaetzle, Rolls, and Bread. Our desserts are also made fresh and the Apple Strudel is quite popular!
The German Dinner Crew continues to serve and wish to honor two key members of our crew that have passed away, Fern Chmielewski and Lion Dave Judd. They are both greatly missed! We cherish the many memories we have of fun times cooking at Lions Park and serving the community together.
