7th Annual Lance Halsey Memorial Ride
WHO: Anyone that rides a motorcycle.
WHAT: A ride to Camp Lions, near Ingleside, IL. Camp Lions is a camp for visually and hearing impaired kids – the Elburn Lions Club gives something to the campers every year. Most of the kids communicate by sign language. After the lights go out, that’s pretty tough. This year, we’ll be taking motion activated flash lights for the kids so that they can communicate after dark. If you or your organization would like to give something to the kids, feel free to call or email Lion Chris Halsey.
WHEN: We will depart Elburn at 12:30pm on Sun. June 17.
WHERE: We’ll meet at Elburn Lions Park.
My son was killed on his motorcycle six years ago June 4 while on his way home from the Elburn Lions Ride. He had helped with the ride as did many Elburn Lions Club members. He left a wife and a 1, 2, and 3 year old son behind. He loved kids, so I thought this ride would be a great tribute to him.
I hope you can join us. My dream is to have 50 motorcycles come roaring into the camp. Most of the kids cannot hear, but can feel the vibration of the motorcycles coming in.
