Reading Machines

Low-vision viewers – aka “Reading Machines”

Aligned with Lions International’s charter to aid the visually impaired, our club has helped place many low-vision viewers within our community. These machines, also known as “reading machines,” are tabletop devices that magnify items such as books, photos, recipes, calendars and even three-dimensional objects such as cans of soup or medicine bottles.

These reading machines can truly make a difference to somebody with a vision disability.

Our machines are at the Elburn Town & Country Public Library, The Meadows and at homes across the Kaneland area. For more information, please contact Lion Nick Carter at 630-365-2778.
